EXPRESSION OF T-CADHERIN IN KERATINOCYTES AND VESSELS OF EPITHELIAL TUMORS OF THE SKIN

Rubina K.A., Sysoeva V.Y., Semina E.V., Yurlova E.I., Molochkov V.A., Khlebnikova A.N., Sedova T.G.

Abstract

The expression of T-cadherin was studied in normal skin, in psoriasis, epithelial benign and malignant tumors of the skin. In normal skin T-cadherin was expressed by epidermal basal cells. Basal expression was also detected in psoriasis, actinic keratosis, keratoacanthoma, and surface basiloma. The expression of T-cadherin was significantly lower in malignant tumor cells (infiltrative basiloma, metatypical and squamous cell cancer). Normal skin vascular endotheliocytes and benign tumor cells expressed von Willebrand ’s factor (vWF) and T-cadherin. Loss of expression of the classical markers of endothelial cells (vWF), expression of -actin in vessel-like structures, and heterogeneity of T-cadherin expression in tumor vessels correlated with histological signs and invasive phenotypes of more aggressive tumors, such as metatypical cancer, invasive basiloma, and squamous cell carcinoma.

EXPRESSION OF MATRIX METALLOPROTEASES IN PSORIASIS AND ATHEROSCLEROSIS

Sautin M.E., Soboleva A.G., Zolotarenko A.D., Piruzyan E.S., Korsunskaya I.M., Orekhov P.Y., Chupin A.V., Bruskin S.A., Sobolev V.V.

Abstract

Psoriatic and atherosclerotic plaques were analyzed by the real time polymerase chain reaction. The expression of matrix metalloprotease genes (MMP-2 and MMP-9) was changed in psoriatic skin and in atherosclerotic vessels in comparison with intact specimens. Individual analysis for each patient showed that the level of MMP-2 gene expression in psoriatic skin was lower in comparison with the control in the majority of patients, while its level in atherosclerotic plaques was higher than normally. The probable key role of MMP-9 gene in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and atherosclerosis is hypothesized.

CHANGES IN THE LEVELS OF MOLECULES MEDIATING LYMPHOCYTE MIGRATION TO THE SKIN IN PSORIASIS PATIENTS

Belonogov R.N., Ruksha T.G.

Abstract

The mechanisms of lymphocyte migration into the skin in psoriasis were studied in 22 patients. The study was carried out on biopsy specimens from patients with disease progress and regression stages. The sections were stained by immunohistochemical methods with monoclonal antibodies to CD45, CD99, CD162, and matrix metalloprotease-9. The derma was profusely infiltrated by lymphocytes expressing these markers during the progressive stage of psoriasis. Positively stained cells were found by the vessels and as groups of cells and individual cells in the papillary and reticular layers and near the epidermis. The number of positively stained cells reduced during the disease regression.

GENE METHYLATION IN CD3+ CELLS IN PSORIASIS

Sobolev V.V., Denisova E.V., Soboleva A.G., Korsunskaya I.M., Chekalin E.V., Zolotarenko A.D., Bruskin S.A.

Abstract

Gene methylation level in CD3+ cells of psoriasis patients in comparison with that in normal subjects was analyzed using Illumina microchips. Differentially methylated locuses were detected in CD3+ cells of psoriasis patients and normal subjects. FRK, JAK1, AKAP7, DYRK1A, PRKCA, RPS6KA2 kinase genes were detected in the most methylated locuses in CD3+ cells of psoriasis patients. The clear-cut separation of the samples into two groups suggested that the level of the studied genes methylation in CD3+ cells can serve for predicting liability to psoriasis and presumably for diagnosis of its early stages.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF ANDROGENIC ALOPECIA BY A COMBINATION OF ZINC HYALURONATE AND PHYSICAL FACTORS

Korolkova T.N., Kharitonova E.E., Bezuglyi A.P., Belkov P.A.

Abstract

The effects of zinc hyaluronate electroporation (ZHE) and ZHE in combination with pulsed photostimulatory therapy on hair growth were studied. Hair growth was evaluated in androgen-dependent zones over the course of treatment (1 and 4 months after it). In group 1 (n=54) ZHE was carried out, in group 2 (n=37) wide-band pulsed photostimulatory therapy was combined with ZHE gel electropolation. Trichological examinations of patients included evaluation of morphometric values: hair compactness, percentage of hairs in the anagen and telogen phases, mean diameter of all hairs in the examined zone, and the percentage of velus and terminal (thin, medium, thick) hairs. Zink hyaluronate administered by electroporation caused anagen hair growth, stimulated the compactness and thickness of hairs in patients with androgenic alopecia. Addition of wide-band pulsed phototherapy improved significantly the results of treatment. Combination of ZHE and wide-band pulsed photostimulatory therapy can be used in the treatment of patients with androgenic alopecia.

EVALUATION OF PATHOGENETIC FACTORS OF CHRONIC PROSTATITIS DEVELOPMENT

Vnnik Y.Y., Prokhorenkov V.I.

Abstract

The main theories of chronic prostatitis development are discussed. Each factor is characterized in brief. Sexually transmitted infections play the key role. Detection of microorganisms in prostatic tissue and secretions in numerous studies supports the infectious theory. However, the pathological process in the organ is maintained for a long time under certain conditions: special anatomical structure of the prostate, congestion in the pelvic vessels and prostatic lobules, hormonal shifts in the males, immune and autonomic disorders.

Molochkov A.V., Konstantinova Z.E., Bagramova G.E., Murakov S.V., Veredchenko A.V., Obraztsov I.G., Prozorov A.S., Popkov S.A.

Abstract

A total of 138 young nulliparous women planning pregnancy were examined. Analysis of their case histories showed frequent relapses of chlamydial and mycoplasmic infections of the urogenital tract. Such a colposcopic sign as “opacity” of the contents of closed glands of the cervix uteri (Nabote ’s cysts) indicated infection of the gland. Chlamydial and mycoplasmic infections could persist asymptomatically for a long time in Nabote ’s cysts. An approach to choice of diagnostic and therapeutic methods has been developed.
