LEVERES BULLOUS PEMPHIGOID AS A PARANEOPLASTIC PROCESS
Abstract
Paraneoplastic diseases of the skin are classifi ed into obligate, probable, and facultative. Leveres bullous
pemphigoid (BP) is referred to facultative ones. Analysis of 67 cases with BP of paraneoplastic genesis (by
publications of U.S. National Library of Medicine) detected gastrointestinal cancer in 18 (27%), breast
cancer in 12 (17.9%), and tumors of different location in the rest patients. The authors present a review of
relevant literature (90 Russian and foreign publications) and 3 clinical observations of BP in the presence
of sigmoid and gastric adenocarcinomas and prostatic cancer.

PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF BIOLOGICAL LIQUIDS IN DUHRINGSHERPETIFORM DERMATITIS
Abstract
A pilot study of crystallization patterns of biological substrates (blood serum, saliva, vesical liquid) in
12 patients with Duhrings herpetiform dermatitis is presented. Methods of classical crystalloscopy and
comparative tesigraphy were used. The crystalloscopic and tesigraphic facies were evaluated using a system
of parameters, offered by the authors, with subsequent statistical data processing. The results indicated that
Duhrings herpetiform dermatitis was characterized by structurization of biological media, consisting in
specifi c transformation of crystallogenesis towards more active structurization and progress of destructive
phenomena in facies. Hence, the biocrystallomic technologies can be used for differential diagnosis in
patients with bullous dermatoses.

ROWELLS SYNDROME
Abstract
A female patient aged 64 years with Rowells syndrome is described. The patient suffered from systemic lupus
erythematosus and erythema exudativum multiforme. The clinical picture of dermatosis was liable to vary
throughout a rather short period. Antiherpetic acyclovir therapy proved to be effective.

DERMATOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF SYRINGOMYELITIS
Abstract
Skin manifestations of syringomyelitis and the development of this disease in a female patient are described.
Because of bullous involvement of the shin, the disease had to be differentiated from Leveres bullous
pemphigoid.

LOCAL PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY FOR KERATOACANTHOMA
Abstract
A single session of photodynamic therapy with intrafocal injection of a Russian photosensitizer radachlorine
led to a clinical and cosmetic effect in 6 (66.6%) of 9 patients with atypical solitary keratoacanthomas.
This result was signifi cantly higher in comparison with the incidence of spontaneous regression of atypical
keratoacanthomas.

LIFE-TIME DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF NONMELANOCYTIC TUMORS OF THE SKINBY SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC INTRADERMAL ANALYSIS (SIA-SCOPY)
Abstract
Spectrophotometric intradermal analysis (SIA-scopy) is a method for life-time diagnosis of skin tumors. It is
based on registration of melanin and collagen levels and microcirculation in the studied tumor. The method
is intended primarily for optimal early diagnosis of skin melanoma. SIA-scopy was used for analysis of
tumors of nonmelanocytic origin, which had to be differentiated from skin melanoma.

COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF LASER-INDUCED ANDPHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY FOR SURFACE AND MICRONODULAR BASALOMA
Abstract
The results of therapy of patients with surface and T1N0M0 micronodular basaloma by laser-induced
thermotherapy (LITT) and photodynamic therapy with Photolon local photosensitizer are compared. Both
methods exhibited similarly high effi ciency. An advantage of LITT is its signifi cantly better tolerance and
much better cosmetic results.

TREATMENT EFFICIENCY FOR SKIN PAPILLOMAS IN PATIENTS WITH SUPERINVASIVEOPISTHORCHIASIS
Abstract
Immunocorrective therapy with immunotropic agents (polyoxidonium or immunofan) and herbal
immunostimulants (collections including buckthorn bark, dandelion root, parsley fruit, fennel, and
peppermint leaves) prevented relapses of multiple skin papillomas in patients with concomitant superinvasive
opisthorchiasis: in 90 ± 9.5% after polyoxidonium and in 90.9 ± 8.6% after immunofan. Patients treated
without immunostimulants developed relapses in 72.2 ± 10.6% cases, while a 12-month relapse-free period
ensued in just 27.8 ± 10.6% patients.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE GENITALS IN VARIOUS FORMS OF FOCAL SCLERODERMA
Abstract
The incidence of genital involvement in focal scleroderma is analyzed in 230 patients with various forms
of the disease. A case with genital involvement in a male patient with scleroatrophic lichen associated with
Borrelia infection is described. A total of 19 publications on the genital location of focal scleroderma are
discussed.

DRUGS WITH TLR2-REGUL COMPLEX IN PATHOGENETIC THERAPY FOR ATOPICDERMATITIS
Abstract
Published data on the contribution of microorganisms acting as superantigens in atopic dermatitis are
reviewed. The functions of Toll-like receptors (TLR) in the skin and the role of TLR2 in stimulation of
congenital immunity are discussed. The author shares her experience gained in the use of these drugs
in topical therapy for atopic dermatitis: gamma Cu-Zn+ with TLR2-Regul innovation complex (Uriage,
France), stimulating the early reactions of congenital immunity in complicated course of dermatitis.

TIME COURSE OF LL-37 ANTIBACTERIAL PEPTIDE IN PATIENTS WITH VULGAR ACNEDURING PHOTOTHERAPY
Abstract
Catelicidine (antibacterial peptide) in the LL-37 form is characterized by anti-infl ammatory,
immunoregulatory, and bactericidal effects towards P. acnes. Serum levels of this peptide were measured in
30 patients with acne of different severity (I, II, and III degree) by EIA before and after highly intense blue
light (405-420 nm) phototherapy. The level of LL-37 peptide directly correlated with the disease severity
and normalized after phototherapy.

MORPHOLOGY AND FUNCTIONS OF NORMAL SKIN OF DIFFERENT ANATOMICAPPURTENANCE AND PHOTOTYPES
Abstract
The morphology and functions of normal skin of different anatomical appurtenance from representatives of
different phototypes have been evaluated. The study was carried out in 30 volunteers aged 20-30 years with skin
phototypes I, II and V. VI. The structural parameters of the skin were studied by the optic coherence tomography
(OCT) using an optic coherent computer-aided tomography visualizer (Russia) for noninvasive studies of the
inner structure of human surface tissues with longitudinal and transverse resolution of 20. The functional
characteristics of the skin were evaluated by the Milti Skin Test Center MC 750 (http://nicosmetics.ru). The
results were statistically processed by Shapiro-Wilk and Mann-Whitneys tests. The data are presented by medians
with the fi rst and third quartiles. Morphological characteristics of normal skin in representatives of different
phototypes, associated with certain functional parameters, have been detected. The detected morphofunctional
differences were more manifest on the skin sites maximally exposed to ultraviolet irradiation.
