In the last few decades, the number of studies on the microbiota and microbiome of living organisms inhabiting the skin has grown rapidly, and the contribution of the microbial community to the realization of skin functions and the pathogenesis of dermatoses is of great scientific and public interest. Understanding the contribution of skin dysbiosis to skin aging, sensitization, and the pathogenesis of chronic dermatoses has prompted the development of strategies aimed at correcting the skin microbiota. One of the directions of bacteriotherapy of skin diseases is the use of biotic complexes, which include metabiotics of human commensal bacteria and prebiotics. The use of biotic complexes makes it possible to effectively modulate the skin microbiome and its barrier functions. The practical embodiment of the use of probiotic bacteria metabiotics as part of biotic complexes was the development of the LE SANTI® MICROBIOME SKINCARE series of products. All products include the LE SANTI® biotic complex containing lysates of probiotic microorganisms Lactococcus, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium and prebiotics trehalose and inulin. The action of each product is enhanced by active ingredients with proven efficacy, such as panthenol, jojoba oil, shea butter, etc.

On March 21, 2024 in St. Petersburg a council of experts was held on the topic: “Modern trends of influence on the skin microbiome with the help of dermatocosmetics. Practical aspects of using LE SANTI® products”. Leading specialists in the field of dermatovenerology and cosmetology of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus took part in the expert council. They discussed the available information about skin microbiota, its physiological role, peculiarities of skin microbial community formation during life and modification during skin aging, significance of its changes in the pathogenesis of sensitive skin syndrome, atopic dermatitis, as well as achievements related to the use of products containing biotic complexes for external therapy. The experts proposed recommendations for the use of emollients containing biotic complexes LE SANTI® in clinical practice, as well as identified prospects and directions for studying their effects.
